The Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People is the professional qualification required to practise ethically and robustly with clients aged 11-18 years old.
This course includes supervised client work, personal therapy and rigorous assessment. It is designed for qualified counsellors who want to work in schools, colleges, an agency specialising in services for children or if you want to extend your adult private practice to working with children and young people.

PLACEMENT & SUPERVISION
As part of the diploma, students must:
• Secure a counselling placement
• Work with real clients under supervision
• Engage in regular clinical supervision
We provide guidance on finding placements and invite placement providers to speak to students, but securing a placement remains the responsibility of each student.

PERSONAL THERAPY
Personal therapy is a core part of professional counselling training.
It supports self-awareness, ethical practice and readiness to work safely with clients. The course requires a minimum of 20 personal therapy hours and your tutors reserve the right to ask you continue if they feel your progress and success on the course requires more.

Level 5 CYP requires significant commitment alongside work and personal life.
Many students continue working while studying, but careful planning is essential.
The course is delivered through a blended model of in-person and online teaching.

The total cost is £2,400 for the whole course, inclusive of VAT and CPCAB registration fee (£386). Payment plans are available and discussed clearly before enrolment.
